Welcome to The Little Fork!

I’m an Atlanta-based food writer. I cook. I eat. And then I write about it.

When I was little, I spent a lot of time as my mom’s shadow. If she was sweeping, I held the dustpan. If she was working, I sat at the table and shuffled papers. And if she was cooking, I was standing nearby watching her put a great meal on the table every night.

It wasn’t until college that I realized how little I really knew about cooking. I thought my years of observation would allow me to cook, but it was at least a couple years of calls to my mom around 6pm where she would answer with “so what are you cooking tonight?” No one appreciated phone cameras as much as I did. Have you ever tried to explain Chinese condiment labels by design only?

My cooking repertoire naturally expanded over the years and even more during Covid. I started enjoying - in fact, planning around - leftovers and using up everything we had in the fridge and pantry. And we started cooking more of our unfamiliar foods at home, though I admit I still prefer to go out for some cuisines.

Every Monday, I put out a newsletter on the previous week’s food adventures. Take a look at some my samples and, if you like what you read, subscribe and read more at thelittlefork.substack.com.
